Thank you to all of those who attended our annual Pizza Meet and Greet! We had a great turn out and look forward to doing it again next year.
This month our lunch speaker on February 15th, is Chris Williams, who will be talking about; Utilizing Image Logs (OMRI, XRMI) to create Turbidite Litho-Facies based upon Bouma’s Facies Model. This should be a great talk and I hope you all can make it!
It’s that time of year again…we need to nominate and elect officers to serve the Society for the 2017-2018 year.
Per the LGS Constitution: Accordingly we need to have a slate of candidates for President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 1 Advisor that can be presented to the membership by the April 19th lunch meeting. At that meeting the members are allowed to nominate candidates from the floor.
Per the LGS Constitution:”… The Active Members present at that meeting shall have the opportunity to supplement the choices of the Nominating Committee by making nominations from the floor.” Subsequent to the April meeting, “…shall prepare a suitable ballot to be mailed at least one month prior to the end of the fiscal year to all Active Members, Senior Members and Honorary Life Members. An attached explanatory notice shall state that any marked ballots not accompanied by the remittance of annual dues shall be disqualified. Only those returned to the Society within 15 days will be counted.…” On this timetable we will be able to announce the election results by the May 17 lunch meeting.
Please consider helping out your Society by serving as an officer for at least 1 term.
