Dear LGS Members:
Welcome to 2018! I hope you all enjoyed a joyous holiday season and a great start to the New Year. I hope we can keep it going throughout the year.
Our next meeting will be held on January 17 at the Petroleum Club. We will hear a presentation by David Koger from Koger Remote Sensing. He will present “Airphotos, Satellites, Drones: Helping out Up, Mid, and Downstream”.
LGS has a lot of great things planned for the spring. First up is the Pizza and Beer Student/Professional “Eat and Greet” at Deano’s on Bertrand on January 25. I hope many of you can come and mingle with our UL students. I know they look forward to this event and your words of wisdom you can share with them. So please make plans to join us for this free event. Our Wine and Rocks event is planned for February, our field trip in March, and the annual crawfish boil for April. More information for each of these events will be shared when available.
Applications are being accepted for the Jack Shirley Memorial SIPES scholarship. You should find a link to the application in the LGS Bulletin and on the website. The application deadline is April 16, 2018.
