Dear LGS Members:
Thank you for the opportunity to lead this great society. I enjoyed my time as President, getting to know more about how the society works and its members. I’ve gotten to meet the great lineup of speakers we’ve had, as well as be part of the GCAGS meetings as your representative.
Looking back over the 2017-2018 season, I am pleased with what we’ve accomplished. We increased member attendance at most of our functions and even made small profits at our fundraisers. We were able to sponsor our student lunches based on our individual members’ sponsorship. Kudos to those who helped us meet that goal. I hope we can keep this motivation going into next season. If you have suggestions or ideas about events you’d like LGS to pursue, please let one of the Board members know. We are happy to change events to better suit our membership.
Please join us on May 16th for the last luncheon of the season. We will receive a presentation from Igor Faoro from Core Laboratories entitled Hydrocarbon Exploitation: the role of Laboratory Geomechanics.
Finally, I wish to thank the Board of Directors for their time and effort. This is definitely a team effort and I sincerely thank each of you. It’s been a pleasure working with you and I look forward to contributing as Past-President.
