Jack Thorson is a geologist with Northcoast Oil Company in Covington, Louisiana. Jack received his geology degree from The University of New Orleans and joined his college professor in the consulting firm of Stephens and Thorson in 1982. In 1991, he formed Northcoast Oil Company where he is active today. Jack is a member of SIPES, NOGS, SGE, SEG, API and AAPG. He was appointed by Governor Roemer to serve on the Louisiana Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.
Jack has researched the contribution of geology to the understanding of global climate change – past, present, and future. The possibility of our climate changing to a cooler period could have a huge impact on the demand for oil and especially natural gas.
